Dr van Zyl is originally from South Africa. He and his wife, Annelize, relocated to the UK in 1997. He holds two post graduate diplomas in Dentistry and an MSc (Endodontics) from the Eastman Dental Institute.

He is currently enrolled at the University of Liverpool reading for an MBA, due for completion in the autumn of 2010.

Steven and Annelize live in Chandlers Ford, with their three year old daughter Anne who will be starting school next year.

Dr. Johann Ackerman graduated from the Dental School at the University of Pretoria in 1977. He was in private dental practice from 1977 to 1984, after which he enrolled for postgraduate studies. He attained a Masters Degree in Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgery in 1988.

Johann’s area of specialist excellence is in orthognatic surgery, implantology and conservative and surgical management of temporo-mandibular joint disorders, as well as minor oral surgery. He is also an Associate member of the International Society of Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgeons.

Johan has attended numerous and regular international conferences, workshops and refresher courses in the field of oral and maxillo-facial surgery, as well as implantology.

Dr Dellow completed his pre-graduate studies in South Africa at the University of Pretoria in 1977. He practised as a general dental practitioner in Chelmsford, Essex, for two years, and 14 years in his private practice in Pretoria, South Africa.

In 1994 he obtained his Masters degree in Prosthodontics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and is currently registered with the General Dental Council in the UK.

Alfred practised as a Prosthodontist from 1995-2002 in Durban, South Africa, before relocating to the United Kingdom in 2002.

He has vast clinical experience in Endodontics, Crown and Bridgework, Prosthetics and Implantology. Alfred regularly attends international conferences and has an international publication on implantology to his credit.

Wilhelm qualified in 1991 as specialist in Prosthodontics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. After his specialization he joined the Medical University of Southern Africa as Senior Consultant in Prosthodontics and later became the Clinical Dean. In 2003 he moved to the UK and has been working in the South of England since that time.

Dr Hennie van Jaarsveld, BChD MChD. Pret, qualified as a Specialist in Periodontics and Oral Medicine at The University of Pretoria June 1985. He obtained his M.Ch.D degree in Periodontics and Oral medicine with honours.

Hennie’s specialises in diagnosing and treating diseases of the gums and supporting tissues. He also places dental implants and has a vast amount of experience in this field. He is married and has 2 sons and a daughter. Hennie’s interests include breeding miniature horses, for which he has received numerous international awards.

Dr Naik took his BDS statutory exam in 2007 after having graduated in 2000 from Kuvempu University, India. Before moving to the UK, Dr Naik owned his own private practice in India and has worked extensively in the field of Prosthetic and Cosmetic dentistry. During this period he served as a Community Director for Rotary International. Dr Naik moved to the UK in 2006. His future plan is to undertake an MSc in Implantology in the very near future.

Dr Naik is married to Sitara, who is a engineer and a Bharathnatyam (Indian classical) dancer.

Stephanie qualified in 2009 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene at merit level from Cardiff Dental University. She also achieved awards for the highest mark in the finals theory examination and highest mark for her final clinical case presentation. Stephanie is passionate about her role as a dental hygienist.

Nicola Cuell is the current practice manager and endodontic nurse at The Mews Dental Studio, and is registered with the GDC. In 2002 Nicola gained her certificate in Dental Nursing, and in 2005 went on to gain her Dental Radiography accreditation.

At present Nicola is taking an NVQ level 4 and BTEC National Diploma in Management.

Jo-Anne Chalk is our in-house beauty therapist with over 10 years’ experience in the industry. Jo trained and qualified from Fareham Beauty College in 1998, having received 3 distinctions. Since qualifying, she has worked with a number of high profile product brands including Clarins, Declor and Espa.

In 2000, Jo trained with Dermalogica and has been working with these products ever since, giving her a vast treatment and product knowledge.
